Mack, Julian William
(1866-1943)
   American judge and Zionist leader. He was born in San Francisco. He began his career as a professor of law at Northwestern University (1895-1902). He served as a judge in the circuit court of Cook County, Illinois, in the Chicago juvenile court, and in the US commerce court. In 1913 he was appointed to the US circuit court of appeals. He was president of the Zionist Organization of America (1918-21) and was the first president of the American Jewish Congress. He was also the first chairman of the Comite de Delegations Juives at Versailles (1919).
